Coneco is assisting the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) in completing upgrades to the utility services that are provided at the Lorraine Park Campground, located within the Harold Parker State Forest in Andover, Massachusetts. The project, which is currently in the design and permitting stages, includes a water main extension, upgrades to sections of the existing water system, and the installation of water supply fixtures to service each of the approximately 90 camp sites. In addition to the water system improvements, DCR has also requested that Coneco investigate improvements to the existing electrical system at the site, including the replacement of all aboveground electrical service with underground service. Coneco's Survey Division has completed an on-the-ground survey of the site, using both ground survey and GPS techniques to develop a base plan for the project and Coneco's Ecological Services Division is completing a wetlands survey of the significant wetland areas that will be impacted by the project. Project construction is targeted for the fall of 2010 at the conclusion of the upcoming camping season.
