Coneco has provided Licensed Site Professional (LSP) oversight during the IRA activities associated with a release of approximately 260 gallons of cable oil from an underground electrical transmission cable located in Quincy, Massachusetts. As a result of the release, soil, groundwater, surface water, and the adjacent wetland were impacted by the release.
To date, immediate response actions conducted by Coneco have included the initial emergency response, oversight of containment booms within the adjacent creek, repair of the stormwater culvert utilizing hydraulic cement, and the implementation of a subsurface investigation to delineate the horizontal and vertical extent of contamination at the Site.
Response Actions have also included the implementation of monthly groundwater and/or non-aqueous phase liquid gauging program, high-vacuum groundwater extraction, quarterly groundwater sampling, and sediment sampling in order to delineate the extent of any remaining contamination within the adjacent wetlands.
