Coneco initiated this Immediate Response Action following identification of a historical release of petroleum to soil and groundwater and the identification of separate-phase product related to two leaking 10,000-gallon No. 6 fuel oil underground storage tanks (USTs) formerly located at this property. Coneco conducted subsurface assessment activities including the performance of exploratory test pits and soil borings. Coneco provided oversight of excavation activities at the Site, resulting in the removal of approximately 1,400 tons of petroleum-impacted soil and approximately 13,000 gallons of impacted groundwater. Following the completion of soil and groundwater removal activities and the performance of a Method III Risk Characterization, Coneco determined soil and groundwater conditions met the requirements for a Class A-2 Response Action Outcome (RAO).
