In November 2008, Coneco was contracted through Winter Street Architects of Salem, MA to engineer a vertical closed loop geothermal system for the Needham Munipial Public Works Building. The large new construction project benefited from the analysis of one vertical closed loop bore in the final engineering stage because the analysis revealed that the subsurface conditions have higher thermal conduvitivity perameters than were originally assumed. Therefore, the total length of ground loop installed at the Site could be reduced and the total overall cost of the project significantly decreased.
