In June of 2009, work commenced on the vertical closed loop geothermal system for a single family home in Middleboro, MA. The home had existing ductwork for forced air heating and cooling. The existing pellet stove will provide backup heating to the geothermal system. Two WaterFurnace heat pumps provide the heating and cooling energy for the home. The system was designed to meet the criteria for the 30% uncapped tax credit.
