RIDEM has issued a Public Notice of Proposed Rulemaking for a Direct Final Amendment to the Regulations for the Rhode Island Pollutant Discharge Elimination System. The purpose of these regulations is to restore, preserve, and enhance the quality of the surface waters and to protect the waters from discharges of pollutants so that the waters shall be available for all beneficial uses and thus protect the public health, welfare and the environment.

If no formal objection is received on or before October 7, 2018, RIDEM will file the Amendment without opportunity for public comment..
